Al Wakrah (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American guard Demarius Bolds (193-88kg-84, college: Missouri Western). He just played at Moutahed in Lebanese LBL league. In 21 games he recorded very impressive stats: 20.5ppg, 5.2rpg, 3.7apg and 1.6spg this season. Good year as he was named League Player of the Week. Bolds also spent pre-season at Targu Mures (Liga Nationala) in Romanian league earlier that year.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to Bolds' pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in eight different countries. Bolds has played previously professionally in Greece (Apollon Patras and Lavrio), Iraq (Nift Al-Janoub), Lithuania (Lietkabelis), Turkey (Final Genclik), United Kingdom (London Lions), Qatar (Al Rayyan), Czech Republic (BK Kolin) and Kosovo (Bashkimi).
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
Bolds attended Missouri Western State College until 2006 and it is his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A very athletic combo guard who does everything.
He is a great slasher to the basket and finishes above the rim with either hand.
Defensively he is a star who plays with a lot of intensity.
He is a big time talent and a great all around player who can do it all
