The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 32-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Al Shamal outrebounded Al Gharafa 46-33 including 37 on the defensive glass. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (195-84, college: CSUN) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Emir Mujkic (210-97) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Lebanese power forward Ali Haidar (203-90, college: Michigan Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the former international center Mohd Yousuf Mohmmed (204-82) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Al Arabi finished third in D1 Championship as they beat Al Wakrah in the consolation final. Al Arabi outrebounded Al Wakrah 42-31 including 27 on the defensive glass.
