Rayyan defend their QBF title - Mar 23, 2011

Rayyan clinched the QBF crown for the third time in a row. They held off Sadd in the additional game of the championship to prove their strength. Chauncey Leslie (183-G-81, college: Iowa) came up with 28 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds to lead the winners.
Rayyan surged ahead right from the start. The reigning champions posted a 27:20 lead after a high-flying first term. They continued to mount the pressure in the second stanza. Rayyan accumulated a comfortable 16-point cushion at the interval. Sadd went on a 15:7 rally early in the third term to cut the deficit but eventually they faced a 13-point deficit heading into the final period. Rayyan were well in control of their fate in the fourth stanza and cruised to the victory at the end. Targuy Ngombo (196-F-89, agency: Court Side) provided 21 points, 15 boards and 5 assists for Rayyan. Yasseen Musa (204-F-80) added 20 points in the victory. Khalid Suliman Abdi (198-F/G-87) answered with 19 points for Sadd. Yousif Mohamed added 17 points, while Daoud Musa (193-G-82) finished with 14 points in the loss.

Gharrafah edge Rayyan in overtime to clinch Emir Cup title - Apr 29, 2011

Gharrafah repeated as Emir Cup champions. They outscored Rayyan in the extra period to celebrate the title for the second season in a row. Alexander McLean (203-F-85, agency: Strategic Sports) scored 22 points and collected 9 rebounds to lead Gharrafah to the triumph.
The start of the game saw teams stayed close. Gharrafah earned a narrow 17:16 lead after ten minutes. Rayyan however surged ahead in the second period. Chauncey Leslie (183-G-81, college: Iowa) and Ngombo ensured a 37:33 halftime advantage for Rayyan. The QBF League defending champions maintained the lead throughout the third frame. They ensured a 4-point lead at the final break 63:59. Yasseen Musa stretched the gap to 9 points in the fourth period but it was not enough. Gharrafah went on a rescue rally to level things up and forced overtime. Gharrafah capped overtime with a 6:0 run and celebrated victory at the end. Omar Abd produced 20 points and 17 rebounds for Gharrafah. Oussaynu Ndaye had 20 points in the win. Chauncey Leslie answered with game-high 36 points and 10 rebounds for Rayyan. Leather Terrence (204-C-81, college: S.Florida) finished with 15 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.

Gharrafah clinch Heir Apparent Cup title - Apr 9, 2011

Gharrafah completed their Heir Apparent Cup campaign with a comfortable win over Sadd in the Final. Gharrafah avenged the last seasons loss to Sadd in the title decider. This time Gharrafah looked determined and celebrated a well-deserved win at the end. Boney Watson (183-G, college: Sam Houston St.) stepped up with 18 points and 8 assists to pace the winners.
Gharrafah grabbed the lead right from the start. They marched to a 21:13 advantage after ten minutes. The margin grew at 12-point mark midway through the second stanza. As the game progressed Gharrafah seemed more and more in control. They recorded a 36:24 halftime buffer. Sadd tried hard to change the complexion of the encounter in the third stanza. They narrowed the deficit at 9-point mark but it was not enough. Gharrafah stepped on the gas in the final ten minutes and settled for the victory at the end. Alexander McLean (203-F-85, agency: Strategic Sports) tallied 17 points and 13 boards, while Omar Abd contributed 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Michael Bell (206-F-82, college: Florida Atlantic) replied with 18 points and 13 boards for Sadd. Clint Deas (203-F-83, college: Appalachian St.) chipped in 10 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the loss.
