Smith number one in Philippines PBA for round 14

American Donovan Smith (207-C/F-1993) had a great game in the last round for Converge FiberXers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 12 rebounds, while his team outclassed Phoenix (#6, 5-4) with 27-point margin 130-103. FiberXers is placed at 9th position in Filipino PBA. FiberXers is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-6 record. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at FiberXers and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader.

The second best player in last round's games was young Maverick Ahanmisi (188-G-1991) of Terrafirma Dyip. Ahanmisi had a very good evening with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Dyip lost that game 85-95 to the higher-ranked NLEX RW (#2, 7-2). This loss caused Terrafirma Dyip to drop to 10th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Ahanmisi is a newcomer at Terrafirma Dyip and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Gian Mamuyac (180-G-1999) of league's top team Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. Mamuyac scored 25 points and passed 5 assists. He was a key player of Painters, leading his team to a 91-82 win against the lower-ranked Hotshots (#7, 4-5). Rain or Shine confirms their top position in the standings. Mamuyac has a very solid season. In 9 games in Philippines he scored 13.4ppg. He also has 3.6apg and a FGP of 56.7%.
