Marvin Jones gets MVP of the Week award for Filipino PBA (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced American Marvin Jones (213-C-1993) had a great game in the last round for Meralco Bolts and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 32-year old center had a double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Macau BB (#13, 0-7), the league's bottom-ranked team 115-110. Thanks to this victory Bolts moved-up to the 3rd position in Filipino PBA. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Meralco Bolts will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 55.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Bolts, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Marvin Jones averages this season 24.4ppg and 13.1rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young South Sudanese center Bol Bol (218-C-1999) of Talk N Text Tropang Giga. Bol impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 35 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Giga cruised to a 101-89 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Terrafirma Dyip (#8, 3-4). TNT Tropang's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Bol is one of the most experienced players at TNT Tropang and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 37.2ppg (#1). He also registered 14.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Clinton Chapman (208-F/C-1989, agency: Diamond Sports) of Magnolia Hotshots (#7). Chapman got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . He was a key player of Hotshots, leading his team to a 120-101 easy win against SM Beermen (3-4). The chances of Hotshots ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Chapman could help Hotshots to bring them higher in the standings. Chapman has a great season in Philippines. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 29.8ppg (5th best).
