The most surprising game was the first loss of Dyip (3-1) in Makati City on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by fifth ranked Masters (3-1) 133-105. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dyip. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Guard Ricci Rivero (185-1998) stepped up and scored 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and American power forward James Dickey III (208-1996, college: UNCG, agency: JCK Sports Group) chipped in 14 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Jerrick Ahanmisi (185-1997) responded with 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Phoenix moved-up to second place, which they share with NLEX RW and Terrafirma Dyip. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

It was a key game for the top position in the league. Swedish guard Felix Pangilinan-Lemetti (185-1999, college: SUU) nailed 23 points for the winning side and Jhonard Clarito accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds. American center Marvin Jones (213-1993, college: Texas Southern) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds for Bolts in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rain or Shine have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Meralco Bolts at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. Rain or Shine will play against Blackwater (#9) in Caloocan City in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Meralco Bolts will play on the road against Titan UGR (#10) in Pasig City and hope to get back on the winning track.
Beermen has registered their first victory this season after one consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat FiberXers (1-3) 103-99 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was June Mar Fajardo who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds. Kylor Kelley produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 20 rebounds and 5 blocks for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Defending champion (1-1) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Ginebra Kings and TNT Tropang. FiberXers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. SM Beermen will meet at home bottom-ranked Macau (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. FiberXers will play against Ginebra Kings and hope to win that game.
