PBA Round 3 of Semi-Finals. Meralco Bolts and SM Beermen register victories

Meralco Bolts - TNT Tropang 97-89

31 personal fouls committed by TNT Tropang helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Chris Newsome who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 assists. point guard Christopher Banchero (186-1990, college: Seattle Pacific) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Roger Ray Pogoy answered with 28 points and added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for TNT Tropang. Five Bolts and four TNT Tropang players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Ginebra Kings - SM Beermen 85-91

Beermen players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Kings were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Celedonio Trollano who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). June Mar Fajardo helped adding 6 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Scottie Thompson with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Japeth Aguilar (206-1987, college: WKU) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
