FiberXers - Ginebra Kings 98-99

Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 31 personal fouls committed by FiberXers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Jeth Troy Rosario saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Scottie Thompson contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Justine Baltazar replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds and naturalized Spanish guard Juan Gomez De Liano (184-1999) added 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for FiberXers. Four Kings and five FiberXers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

Meralco Bolts - Rain or Shine 98-89

Bolts made 29-of-37 charity shots (78.4 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. Painters were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Chris Newsome scored 31 points and 5 assists (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Christopher Banchero (186-1990, college: Seattle Pacific) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Four Bolts players scored in double figures. Adrian Nocum responded with 29 points and 5 rebounds and scored 20 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
