Baltazar number one in Philippines PBA for round 13 (by Hoops Agents)

Power forward Justine Baltazar (208-PF-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Converge FiberXers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 24 rebounds, while his team beat NLEX RW (#7, 6-5) 107-95. FiberXers maintains the 4th position in Filipino PBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. FiberXers will need more victories to improve their 7-4 record. In the team's last game Baltazar had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. It's his second year at FiberXers and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Justine Baltazar has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 13.8rpg) and averages impressive 51.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young June Mar Fajardo (210-C-1989) of league's leader San Miguel Beermen. Fajardo had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds. Of course Beermen cruised to a 113-104 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Meralco Bolts (#8, 5-5). Of course SM Beermen still keep the league's top spot. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 9 matches. Fajardo is one of the most experienced players at SM Beermen and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another FiberXers' star - Spanish guard Juan Gomez De Liano (184-G-1999). Gomez De Liano showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 10 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of Converge FiberXers, helping his team with a 107-95 win against the lower-ranked NLEX RW (#7, 6-5). FiberXers needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 4 lost games. Gomez De Liano has a very solid season. In 11 games in Philippines he scored 19.4ppg. He also has 7.6rpg, 7.6apg, a FGP of 57.0% and 3PT: 48.8%. Juan Gomez De Liano has also Filipino passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
