Abueva's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

37-year old USA-PHIn forward Calvin Abueva (190-F-1988) put on an amazing game in the last round for Titan Ultra Giant Risers and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
He had a double-double of 35 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Phoenix (#10, 3-8) 127-119. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Titan UGR maintains the 9th position in Filipino league. Titan UGR is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-6 record. In the team's last game Abueva had a remarkable 57.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Titan UGR's top player in his first season with the team. Abueva has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.3ppg. Abueva is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 12.0rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg.

Second best performed player last round was Jordan Heading (188-G-1996) of Talk N Text Tropang Giga. He is naturalized Australian guard in his first season at TNT Tropang. In the last game Heading recorded an impressive 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led TNT Tropang to another comfortable win 119-100 over the lower-ranked NLEX RW (#7, 6-5) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed TNT Tropang to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Heading is a newcomer at TNT Tropang and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard CJ Cansino (188-G-1999) of Meralco Bolts (#8). Cansino scored 29 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was a key player of Bolts, leading his team to a 105-84 easy win against the higher-ranked FiberXers (#4, 7-4). Meralco Bolts needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 4 lost games. Cansino has a great season in Philippines. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.1ppg (5th best).
