Jaymar Perez gets MVP of the Week award for Filipino PBA (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced Jaymar Perez (188-G-1993) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's second-best San Miguel Beermen and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 32-year old guard had the game-high 33 points adding two rebounds and three assists for SM Beermen in his team's victory, helping them to beat TNT Tropang (#4, 6-3) 110-95. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Beermen is placed at 2nd position in Filipino PBA. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. SM Beermen will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Perez had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Beermen, through which he has constantly improved. Perez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.0ppg) and averages solid 2.3spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Calvin Abueva (190-F-1988) of Titan Ultra Giant Risers. Abueva impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Titan UGR to edge the lower-ranked Terrafirma Dyip (#12, 1-7) by 3 points 111-108. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Titan UGR managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Abueva is a newcomer at Titan UGR and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.9ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 11.4rpg and 3.4apg.

The third best performed player last round was Ricci Rivero (185-G-1998) of Phoenix Fuel Masters (#8). Rivero scored 25 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of Masters, leading his team to a 106-98 win against the lower-ranked Blackwater (#11, 1-7). The chances of Phoenix not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 6 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Rivero could try to bring Phoenix's a little bit higher in the standings. Rivero has a very solid season. In 9 games in Philippines he scored 16.8ppg. He also has 5.4rpg and a FGP of 52.6%.
