PBA Round 6 (Regular Season): TNT Tropang defeat Meralco Bolts in the closest game of the week

What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 6 in the PBA took place in Manila. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Bolts (2-4) to first ranked TNT Tropang (5-1) 100-98 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. TNT Tropang forced 19 Meralco Bolts turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Meralco Bolts helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. scored 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and chipped in 22 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Chris Newsome with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TNT Tropang have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record. Meralco Bolts at the other side keep the seventh place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Caloocan City was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Warriors (4-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Bossing (1-3). Warriors defeated Bossing 99-88. Guard Robert Bolick (185-1995) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the effort and JB Bahio supported him with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Even 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Sedrick Barefield (188-1996, college: Utah) did not help to save the game for Blackwater. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Warriors have a solid three-game winning streak. NLEX RW moved-up to second place, which they share with Hotshots and Rain or Shine. Blackwater lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Ginebra Kings. NLEX RW will play against Ginebra Kings (#9) in Manila in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Blackwater will play on the road against Titan UGR in Pasig City to get more than just one victory in their record.
A very close game took place in Quezon between Hotshots and Masters. Fourth ranked Hotshots (4-1) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Masters (1-4). Hotshots managed to escape with a 3-point win 83-80 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was Jerom Lastimosa who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Jason Perkins who recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hotshots moved-up to second place, which they share with Rain or Shine and NLEX RW. Phoenix lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Titan UGR and Terrafirma Dyip. Hotshots will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Phoenix will play against Rain or Shine (#4) in Manila and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 6 Rain or Shine won against Terrafirma Dyip on the opponent's court 106-91.




Blackwater - NLEX RW 88-99

The game in Caloocan City was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Warriors (4-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Bossing (1-3). Warriors defeated Bossing 99-88. NLEX RW dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Bossing's 40. NLEX RW players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Guard Robert Bolick (185-1995) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the effort and supported him with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Warriors players scored in double figures. Even 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Sedrick Barefield (188-1996, college: Utah) did not help to save the game for Blackwater. Naturalized Italian guard Dalph Panopio (185-2000, college: CSUB, agency: Schafer Sports) added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Warriors have a solid three-game winning streak. Very expected game in Makati City where 11th ranked Terrafirma Dyip (1-4) was defeated by fifth ranked Painters (4-1) 106-91 on Friday. Rain or Shine looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Painters players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Robert Bolick (185-1995) who recorded 25 points and 5 rebounds and JM Bravo added 17 points and 15 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Painters have a solid three-game winning streak. Rain or Shine moved-up to second place, which they share with Hotshots and NLEX RW. Terrafirma Dyip lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with four games lost.
