Brondial's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

John Rodney Brondial

34-year old forward John Rodney Brondial (196-F-1990) had an amazing evening in the last round for San Miguel Beermen and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had a double-double of 16 points and 22 rebounds, while his team outclassed Terrafirma Dyip (#12, 1-7) with 39-point margin 128-89. Beermen is placed at 3rd position in Filipino league. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. SM Beermen will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Brondial has many years of experience at Beermen, through which he has constantly improved. Brondial has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 10.3rpg) and averages solid 57.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Japeth Aguilar (206-C-1987) of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings. He is a center in his 12th season at Ginebra Kings. In the last game Aguilar recorded an impressive 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Kings cruised to a 119-112 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Phoenix (#9, 2-5). Ginebra Kings' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Aguilar is one of the most experienced players at Ginebra Kings and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.5ppg (#6). He also registered 7.2 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Schonny Winston (193-G-1998) of Converge FiberXers (#4). Winston showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of FiberXers, leading his team to a 111-92 easy win against the lower-ranked North Port (#11, 1-5). FiberXers needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Winston has a very solid season. In 8 games in Philippines he scored 15.8ppg. He also has 5.5rpg, 3.1apg and a FGP of 53.1%.
