Oftana number one in Philippines PBA for round 4 (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Calvin-John Oftana (195-F-1996) had a great game in the last round for Talk N Text Tropang Giga, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 21 rebounds, while his team beat SM Beermen (#4, 3-2) 89-84. TNT Tropang is placed at 10th position in Filipino PBA. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Oftana had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at TNT Tropang, through which he has constantly improved. Calvin-John Oftana has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 21.0ppg), rebounds (5th best: 10.0rpg) and averages impressive 59.1% FGP and 42.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Jayson David (188-G-1996) of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings. David had a very good evening with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Kings to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked North Port (#11, 1-3) 131-106. This victory allowed Ginebra Kings to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 2-1 record is not bad and everything may still change. David is one of the most experienced players at Ginebra Kings and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Justine Baltazar (208-PF-1997) of league's second-best Converge FiberXers. Baltazar scored 13 points and grabbed 22 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of FiberXers, leading his team to a 107-97 win against the lower-ranked Rain or Shine (#6, 2-2). FiberXers needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Baltazar has a great season in Philippines. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.8rpg (#1 in league).
