Aguilar's 30-point game gives him Player of the Week award

37-year old center Japeth Aguilar (206-C-1987) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had the game-high 30 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Ginebra Kings in his team's victory, helping them to crush Terrafirma Dyip (#10, 1-3) with 21-point margin 101-80. Thanks to this victory Kings moved-up to the 7th position in Filipino league. Ginebra Kings is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Aguilar has many years of experience at Kings, through which he has constantly improved. Western Kentucky University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Aguilar is in league's top in points (3rd best: 21.0ppg) and averages solid 2.5bpg and 64.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Kai Ballungay (201-F-2001) of Phoenix Fuel Masters. He is naturalized American forward in his first season at Phoenix. In the last game Ballungay recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Masters lost that game 99-118 to Hotshots (4-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Ballungay is a newcomer at Phoenix and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#5). He also registered 12.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward William Navarro (199-F-1997) of North Port Batang Pier (#9). Navarro scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Navarro's great performance the North Port lost 98-120 to Blackwater (1-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of North Port not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Navarro could try to bring North Port's a little bit higher in the standings. Navarro has individually a great season in Philippines. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.3ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 11.0rpg (4th best).
