Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Meralco Bolts made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for point guard Christopher Banchero (186-1990, college: Seattle Pacific) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Chris Newsome (187-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) helped adding 20 points and 6 assists. Meralco Bolts' coach Luigi Trillo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Scottie Thompson (188-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and naturalized German forward Christian Standhardinger (206-1989, college: Hawaii) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
