Rain or Shine looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 33 personal fouls committed by TNT Tropang helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Jhonard Clarito (188-1996) scored 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the charge for the winners and center Leonard Santillan (195-1996) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Roger Ray Pogoy (189-1992) responded with 28 points and point guard Jayson Castro William (180-1986) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Meralco Bolts dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to NLEX RW's 26 and made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded NLEX RW 47-32 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. NLEX RW was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch.
