The most exciting game of round 7 in the PBA took place in Makati. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked NLEX RW (5-2) to seventh ranked TNT Tropang (4-3) 104-101 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of NLEX RW. They outrebounded NLEX RW 45-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. 30 personal fouls committed by NLEX RW helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Calvin-John Oftana (195-1996) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). Roger Ray Pogoy (189-1992) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Robert Bolick (185-1995) answered with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for NLEX RW. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TNT Tropang moved-up to fourth place, which they share with North Port. NLEX RW at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. TNT Tropang is looking forward to face higher ranked Ginebra Kings (#3) in Manila in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. NLEX RW will have a break next round.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked North Port (4-3) against fourth ranked Ginebra Kings (5-3) on Sunday night. Host North Port was defeated by Ginebra Kings in a tough game in Pasig City 88-95. It was a great evening for naturalized German forward Christian Standhardinger (206-1989, college: Hawaii) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Ralph Cu helped adding 24 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. At the losing side forward Arvin Tolentino (195-1995) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ginebra Kings moved-up to third place. North Port at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with TNT Tropang. Ginebra Kings will play against TNT Tropang (#5) in Makati in the next round. North Port will play on the road against Rain or Shine in Manila and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rain or Shine have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Terrafirma Dyip dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Rain or Shine will meet at home higher ranked North Port (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Terrafirma Dyip will have a break next round.
