PBA Round 4 (Regular Season): SM Beermen beat TNT Tropang by two after a very close game

The most exciting game of round 4 in the PBA took place in Manila. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked TNT Tropang (2-2) to top-ranked SM Beermen (3-0) 91-89 on Sunday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Celedonio Trollano (191-1992) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. point guard Jayson Castro William (180-1986) replied with 20 points and 6 assists for TNT Tropang. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. SM Beermen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. TNT Tropang at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost.

At the losing side guard Ricci Rivero (185-1998) responded with 16 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rain or Shine left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with defeated Phoenix.

In the last two games of round 4 SM Beermen beat Phoenix on the road 116-102. Hotshots lost to Ginebra Kings on its own court 77-87.
The most impressive performance of 4th round was 16 points and 4 assists by Maverick Ahanmisi of Ginebra Kings.



Phoenix - Rain or Shine 85-100

Rain or Shine's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Quezon, where they defeated Phoenix (1-4) 100-85. Rain or Shine forced 20 Phoenix turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Adrian Nocum who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Beau Belga (198-1986) who added 21 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Ricci Rivero (185-1998) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and Javee Mocon (193-1995) scored 6 points and 12 rebounds. Four Phoenix players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jaymar Perez (188-1993) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 5 assists and center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) who added 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American forward Jason Perkins (193-1992, college: VCSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Javee Mocon (193-1995) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four SM Beermen and five Phoenix players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. SM Beermen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Phoenix at the other side keeps the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Rain or Shine.

Very expected game when 10th ranked Hotshots (1-0) lost to fourth ranked Ginebra Kings (2-1) in Pasig City 77-87. Ginebra Kings players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Hotshots were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized German forward Christian Standhardinger (206-1989, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and center Japeth Aguilar (206-1987, college: WKU) who added 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Jiovani Jalalon (175-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and guard Paul Lee (185-1989) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hotshots' coach Chito Victolero rotated thirteen players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Ginebra Kings went down to sixth position due to points difference. Hotshots at the other side dropped to the ninth place with 0 game lost.
