Grouses ink Johnathan Williams III, ex Phoenix

Johnathan Williams III

Toyama Grouses (B1 League) agreed terms with 28-year old American power forward Johnathan Williams III (206cm-94kg-1995, college: Gonzaga, agency: Slash Sports). He started the season at Phoenix in Filipino PBA league. In 17 games he had very impressive stats: 24.5ppg, 16.4rpg, 5.2apg and 1.6bpg. He was also named League Player of the Week (2 times). The last season he played at Fighting Eagles.
He represented USA at the World Championships U17 in Kaunas (Lithuania) twelve years ago. Williams's team won Gold and his stats at that event were 8 games: 7.0ppg, 4.6rpg, FGP: 53.5%, FT: 55.6%.
He is quite experienced player. Williams's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in eight different countries. He tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Germany (Chemnitz), Israel (Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion), Italy (Dolomiti Trentino), Turkey (Galatasaray), NBA (LA Lakers and Washington Wizards), NBA G League (South Bay Lakers and Capital City Go-Go) and NBA Summer League (Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings). His team made it to the PBA Commissioner's Final Four in 2024. He was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-PBA Commissioner's Cup Center of the Year in 2024.
He graduated from Gonzaga University in 2018 and it is his sixth season as a professional player. He played for other colleges like: University of Missouri, University of Memphis.
