The most surprising game was a loss of Terrafirma Dyip in Makati on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by TNT Tropang 100-97. American Stephen Holt (193-1991, college: SMC) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TNT Tropang will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Terrafirma Dyip will play at home against Blackwater and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Manila. NLEX RW saved a 3-point victory on the road edging Meralco Bolts 99-96 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Even 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Chris Newsome (187-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) did not help to save the game for Meralco Bolts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. NLEX RW will play against Blackwater in Caloocan City in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Meralco Bolts' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Manila to the arena Ginebra Kings.
The game in Manila was also quite interesting. North Port played at the court of Meralco Bolts. North Port managed to secure a 5-point victory 90-85 on Sunday.
