SM Beermen made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American forward Bennie Boatwright (208-1996, college: USC) scored 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) chipped in 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks during the contest. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hotshots made 8 blocks.
