SM Beermen - Bay Area D. 102-103 Ginebra Kings - Hotshots 87-84 Ginebra Kings players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Hotshots were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Jamie Malonzo nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side and American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) accounted for 11 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Paul Lee (185-1989) came up with 21 points and naturalized American forward Calvin Abueva (190-1988) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Hotshots in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hotshots' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total thirteen players in this game, but that didn't help.
