Powell's 33-point game gives him Player of the Week award- October 8, 2022
He had the game-high 33 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for Bay Area D. in his team's victory, helping them to beat FiberXers (#8, 1-2) 106-100. It allowed Bay Area D. to consolidate first place in the Filipino league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Bay Area D. already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Powell had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Bay Area D.'s top player in his first season with the team. Seton Hall University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Powell is in league's top in points (2nd best: 35.8ppg) and averages solid 2.8spg and 53.8% FGP. Second best performed player last round was Cameron Oliver (203-F-1996) of TNT Tropang. He is American forward in his first season at TNT Tropang. In the last game Oliver recorded impressive double-double of 43 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as TNT Tropang was edged by league's leader Hotshots (#2, 3-0) 94-92. This loss caused TNT Tropang to drop to 11th position in the standings. 1 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Oliver is a newcomer at TNT Tropang and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to forward Quincy Miller-Scott (206-F-1992) of FiberXers (#8). Miller-Scott got into 30-points club by scoring 38 points in the last round. He went also for fourteen rebounds and four assists. Despite Miller-Scott's great performance FiberXers lost 100-106 to the league's current leader Bay Area D. (#1, 4-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Miller-Scott has individually a great season in Philippines. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 38.0ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 15.3rpg (6th best). Other top performing players last week: 4.
