Wesson's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award- September 26, 2022
He had a double-double of 28 points and 26 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Blackwater Elite (#4, 1-1) 85-97. Phoenix moved-up to the 13th position in Filipino league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 2 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game Wesson had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Phoenix's top player in his first season with the team. Ohio State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Wesson is in league's top in points (6th best: 21.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 20.5rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 3.0spg. Second best performed player last round was Cameron Krutwig (206-C-1998) of Blackwater Elite. He is American center in his first season at Blackwater Elite. In the last game Krutwig recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Blackwater Elite cruised to a 97-85 relatively comfortable win over Phoenix (0-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Krutwig is a newcomer at Blackwater Elite and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Third place about best performers goes to guard Myles Powell (188-G-1997) of league's leader Bay Area D.. Powell got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . He was a key player of Bay Area D., leading his team to a 105-104 win against North Port (#5, 1-1). Bay Area D. has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Powell also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Powell has a great season in Philippines.
