PBA Round 2: Bay Area D. hand first loss to North Port- September 25, 2022
There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in PBA. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Bay Area D. - North Port 105-104 The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of North Port in Hong Kong on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Bay Area D. 105-104. Bay Area D. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by North Port helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Myles Powell (188-1997, college: Seton Hall) saved the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Australian guard Hayden Blankley (198, college: WT) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Robert Bolick (185-1995) replied with 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists and forward Arvin Tolentino (195-1995) added 22 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for North Port. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bay Area D. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. North Port will play at home against Meralco Bolts and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win. Guests from Caloocan City beat Phoenix 97-85. Blackwater Elite forced 19 Phoenix turnovers. Phoenix was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Cameron Krutwig (206-1998, college: Loyola, IL) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jeth Troy Rosario (201-1992) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Blackwater Elite players scored in double figures. American power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 26 rebounds and guard Ryan Roose Garcia (180-1990) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blackwater Elite will play against NLEX RW in Makati City in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Phoenix will have a break next round.
