PBA Round 2 (Philippine Cup): TNT Tropang lose to Blackwater Elite

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in PBA. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of TNT Tropang in Makati on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Blackwater Elite 85-78. The best player for the winners was point guard Jayvee Casio (178-1986) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. Center Yousef Taha (201-1988, college: North Lake CC) chipped in 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Roger Ray Pogoy (189-1992) produced 32 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blackwater Elite is looking forward to face Ginebra Kings in Manila in the next round where they are favorite. TNT Tropang's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Makati FiberXers.
Very important is a home loss of Rain or Shine against North Port on Thursday night. Host Rain or Shine was defeated by North Port in Manila 94-81. Forward Jamie Malonzo orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Robert Bolick contributed with 22 points and 6 assists for the winners. Michael Nieto (188-1997) replied with 19 points and 4 assists for Rain or Shine. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. North Port will play against Terrafirma Dyip in Makati City in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Rain or Shine will have a break next round.

Jeron Alvin Teng scored 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Ian Paul Sangalang responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. FiberXers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Makati to the arena TNT Tropang.

In the last game of round 2 NLEX RW lost to undefeated SM Beermen in Manila 92-100.

There was a minor upset in Manila where NLEX RW was defeated by SM Beermen 100-92 on Friday. SM Beermen shot 24 for 33 from the free-throw line, while NLEX RW only scored eight points from the stripe. SM Beermen forced 19 NLEX RW turnovers. Guard Jaymar Perez (188-1993) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) chipped in 9 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Guard Celedonio Trollano (191-1992) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Calvin John Oftana (195-1996) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Four SM Beermen and five NLEX RW players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
