Alaska Aces (PBA) landed 26-year old American forward Branden Dawson (198-102kg-93, college: Michigan State). He played in the summer at Mauricio Baez in TBS league in Dominican Republic. Dawson managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In four TBS games he averaged 13.8ppg, 15.5rpg, 2.3apg, 1.5spg and 2.3bpg. He also played for Gigantes (CIBACOPA) in Mexican league where in 20 games he had 13.1ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.3apg, 1.4spg and 1.3bpg. Dawson helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in LNBP South Division. They also advanced to the league semifinals. Good season as he was selected League Player of the Week (2 times).
In 2015 he was drafted by New Orleans Hornets (NBA) in second round (56th overall). The former Michigan State staris in his fifth season in pro basketball. He played in the final of Dominican Rep. TBS League.
Dawson received USBWA All-District V 1st Team award back in 2015 at his college time.
Dawson is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Dawson has played previously professionally in Israel, Japan (Hitachi Sunrockers), NBA (LA Clippers and Orlando Magic), Mexico (Soles) and NBA G League (College Park Skyhawks and Grand Rapids Drive).
Let's have closer look into His outlook: Owns incredible rebounding instincts both on the offensive and defensive end. Possesses wide, strong frame that allows him to attack the paint and finish above the rim Strength and length allow him to defend multiple positions.
