In 2015 he was drafted by New Orleans Hornets (NBA) in second round (56th overall). The former Michigan State staris in his fifth season in pro basketball. He played in the final of Dominican Rep. TBS League. Dawson received USBWA All-District V 1st Team award back in 2015 at his college time. Dawson is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Dawson has played previously professionally in Israel, Japan (Hitachi Sunrockers), NBA (LA Clippers and Orlando Magic), Mexico (Soles) and NBA G League (College Park Skyhawks and Grand Rapids Drive).
