Abueva number one in Philippines for round 3 (by Interperformances) - Feb 6, 2019

Naturalized American Forward Calvin Abueva (190-F-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Phoenix, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds, while his team crushed Blackwater Elite (#10, 1-3) with 19-point margin 114-95. It allowed Phoenix to consolidate first place in the Filipino PBA. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Phoenix already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Abueva had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Phoenix's top player in his first season with the team. Calvin Abueva has solid league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 12.0rpg. Abueva

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old international forward Abu Jahal Tratter (196-F-93) of Blackwater Elite. Tratter had a very good evening with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Blackwater Elite lost that game 95-114 to Phoenix (4-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Tratter is a newcomer at Blackwater Elite, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was center June Mar Fajardo (210-C-89) of SM Beermen (#7). Fajardo showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, fourteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Fajardo's great performance SM Beermen lost 98-108 to Rain or Shine (#2, 4-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of SM Beermen ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Fajardo could help SM Beermen to bring them higher in the standings. Fajardo has a great season in Philippines. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.4ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 10.8rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Javee Mocon (193-SF-95) of Rain or Shine - 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Greg Slaughter (216-C-88) of Ginebra Kings - 22 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Jaymar Perez (188-G-93) of Columbian Dyip - 25 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Jayson Castro William (180-PG-86) of TNT Ka Tropa - 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Maverick Ahanmisi (188-G-91) of Rain or Shine - 8 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Kevin Ferrer (194-F-93) of Ginebra Kings - 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Marcio Lassiter (190-G/F-87) of SM Beermen - 27 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
