Hotshots held off Blackwater Elite to advance into the semifinal stage. Hotshots looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Blackwater Elite's players. American-FYR Macedonian Romeo Travis (198-84, college: Akron) fired a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. Guard Paul Lee (185-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward John-Paul Erram (203-89) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds and American swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Hotshots and five Blackwater Elite players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

Meralco Bolts upset Phoenix on the road to force the decider. Strangely Phoenix outrebounded Meralco Bolts 65-51 including a 27-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Phoenix helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and point guard Baser Amer (180-92) accounted for 14 points and 6 assists. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds and naturalized American forward Calvin Abueva (190-88) added 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for Phoenix in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.

Ginebra Kings cruised past NLEX RW to reach the next round of playoffs. Ginebra Kings outrebounded NLEX RW 56-38 including a 44-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Center Japeth Aguilar (206-87, college: W.Kentucky) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Ginebra Kings players scored in double figures. American-Mexican forward Aaron Fuller (198-89, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and JR Quinahan (198-84) added 9 points in the effort for NLEX RW. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice, agency: IPZ) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and forward Vic Manuel (193-87) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Alaska Aces players scored in double figures. Alaska Aces' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Kevin Murphy (197-90, college: Tenn Tech) responded with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized German forward Christian Standhardinger (206-89, college: Hawaii) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game of round 7 in the PBA took place in Manila. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed SM Beermen (6-4) to first ranked Phoenix (9-2) 96-93 on Saturday evening. JUNE MAR FAJARDO Center June Mar Fajardo (210-C-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for SM Beermen, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 6.
