JUSTIN BROWNLEE

American Justin Brownlee (197-F-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Ginebra Kings and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 30-year old forward had a double-double of 34 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team edged out Phoenix (#2, 5-2) 101-99. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Ginebra Kings to jump to the first place in the Filipino PBA. Ginebra Kings have a solid 5-1 record. Brownlee turned to be Ginebra Kings' top player in his first season with the team. St. John's University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Brownlee is league's best scorer averaging so far 35.0ppg. Brownlee is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 13.2rpg), assists (7th best: 6.2apg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 53.5% FGP. Worth to mention Brownlee played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old American guard Kevin Murphy (197-G-90) of SM Beermen. Murphy impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 37 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as SM Beermen was edged by the higher-ranked Hotshots (#4, 4-1) 109-108. SM Beermen is still in a red zone at 8th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Murphy is a newcomer at SM Beermen and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another SM Beermen's star - German Christian Standhardinger (206-F-89). Standhardinger scored 27 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Standhardinger's great performance SM Beermen lost 108-109 to the higher-ranked Hotshots (#4, 4-1). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The chances of SM Beermen ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Standhardinger could help SM Beermen to bring them higher in the standings. Standhardinger has a very solid season. In 5 games in Philippines he scored 25.8ppg. Christian Standhardinger has also Filipino passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Marqus Blakely (201-F-88) of TNT Ka Tropa - 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Eugene Phelps (198-F-90) of Phoenix - 23 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Stanley Pringle (184-PG-87) of Global Port - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists
7. Earl Scottie Thompson (188-G-93) of Ginebra Kings - 12 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Terrence Romeo (180-PG-92) of TNT Ka Tropa - 25 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Matthew Wright (193-G-91) of Phoenix - 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Romeo Travis (198-PF-84) of Hotshots - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The 2019 PBA All-Star Week will be in Calasiao, Pangasinan, PBA commissioner Willie Marcial announced Tuesday.
