DIAMON SIMPSON

Alaska Aces (PBA) agreed terms with 30-year old American forward Diamon Simpson (204-104kg-87, college: St.Mary's, CA). It is actually his comeback to Makati as he has played here before. Simpson played last season at Demir Insaat Buyukcekmece Basket in Turkish BSL league. In 30 games he had 8.8ppg and 7.1rpg. He also played 16 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 10.7ppg, 7.8rpg, 1.5apg, 1.3spg and 1.1bpg.
The previous (16-17) season Simpson played at Trotamundos in Venezuelan LPB. In 8 games he averaged 6.1ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.0apg. The other team Simpson played shortly was Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv in Israeli league. In 6 Euroleague games he got 9.2ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.2apg, 1.5spg and 1.0bpg. Another team Simpson played that season for was CEZ Nymburk in Czech Republic NBL. In 15 games he got 8.3ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.1bpg. He also played 14 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 9.9ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.5bpg.
Simpson has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team won Czech Republic Cup in 2017. Simpson was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League 3rd Team back in 2013.
He is quite experienced player. Simpson has played in six different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Australia (Adelaide 36ers), Spain (Movil Estudiantes), NBA (Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets), Israel (Maccabi Ashdod and Ironi Nes Ziona) and NBA G League (South Bay Lakers).
Simpson attended Saint Mary's College of California until 2009 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player.
He could be described: a long mobile high-energy forward with great basketball instincts and intelligence. Gifted high level rebounder and defender who is always around the ball and in the right place at the right time. An efficient scorer attacking the basket, in transition, around the rim and importantly all without having plays run for him. Perfect complimentary player for top-level clubs.

Fueled by 'trash talk,' Mike Harris brings Alaska back from the dead - 18 hours ago
Let's just say Mike Harris (198-SF-83, college: Rice, agency: IPZ) thrives on a little bit of "trash talking." Harris served as a shot in the arm Alaska needed in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup finals as the Aces gave the Magnolia Hotshots a 100-71 shellacking in Game 3 on Sunday, December 9. The 35-year-old reinforcement churned out 36 points and 18 rebounds to help the Aces clinch their first win in the best-of-seven championship duel and cut the Hotshots' series lead to 1-2. It was a nigh...   [read more]

Magnolia hacked out a difficult 77-71 win against Alaska in Game 2 of their best-of-7 PBA Governors' Cup finals at Araneta Coliseum Friday night. After struggling for most of the game, the Hotshots came up with stops in the fourth quarter and walked away with a 2-0 series lead. Romeo Travis had 24 big points for Alaska to go with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. 'I didn't play particularly good as late, but it's a great team effort and I'm very happy that we won, said Travis   [read more]
