Beirut Club (LBL) added experienced 36-year-old Palestinian ex-international power forward Sani Sakakini (204cm-100kg-1988) to their roster for the 2024-25 season. He played last season at Al Riyadi (LBL), where in 20 games he recorded 9.6ppg and 4.9rpg. Sakakini helped them win the league title in both the Lebanese League and West Asia Super League Group West Asia. He also played 7 games in the West Asia Super League, averaging 12.4ppg, 3.4rpg, and 2.0apg.
During the 2022-23 season, he split time between Taoyuan Pilots (PLeague+) in the Taiwanese league and Al Kuwait SC (D1) in the Kuwaiti league.
He also represented Palestine at the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers three years ago. Sakakini was the best scorer at the event with 27.5 ppg, while he added 13.3 rebounds per game.
He is quite an experienced player. Sakakini has played also in China (Blue Whales, Pioneers, Loong Lions, Eagles, and Monkey Kings), Jordan (Orthodox), Kuwait, Taiwan (Yulon Luxgen and Suns), Venezuela (Trotamundos), United Arab Emirates (Shabab Al Ahli), Lebanon (Champville and Hoops), and Palestine (Beit Sahour).
He received an All-Taiwanese PLeague+ Honorable Mention in 2023 among many awards. It is likely that he will retire at Beirut Club.
