Amman United agreed terms with 25-year old Jordanian international forward Hashem Abbas (198cm-98kg-1999, college: Bridgeport). Abbas played this summer at Rum (League of Talents). In 27 games just recently he was league's second best scorer with impressive 26.1ppg and averaged 11.1rpg (#4 in the league), 5.4apg and 2.0spg (in top 5). D2 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. He helped them to win the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. 2024-24 was a great season as he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Jordanian League of Talents Domestic Player of the Year, Finals MVP and Forward of the Year. The last season he played at Al Wakrah in Qatari QBL where in 7 games he had 14.7ppg, 7.4rpg, 2.1apg and 1.4spg (in top 5). Abbas contributed to his team making it to the Qatari Cup Semifinals.
He also represented Jordan at the Asian Games in Huangzhou (China) last year. Abbas' team won Silver and his stats at that event were 4 games: 1.3ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.0apg.
Abbas has played previously professionally also in Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was selected Asia-Basket.com All-Jordanian Premier League Sixth Player of the Year back in 2021.
He graduated from Bridgeport University in 2020 and it will be his sixth season as a professional player.
