Palestine edge Iraq 91-81 in the opener of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Pre-Qualifiers. Both teams exchanged the wins in the first half for a 2-point lead at the halftime for the Iraqi team. Moreover the latter posted a 25-21 run in the third quarter to have a 6-point advantage. Palestine meanwhile exploded with a 30-14 surge at the end to win the game.
Jamal Mayali (185-G-1998) top-scored for the winners with 27 points and Efosa Shane netted 20. Ahmed Haroon scored 16 and Michel AlMassri brought 14. Hassan Abdullah (190-G-1994) replied with 23 points in the losing effort.
