Pakistan emerged victorious in their second match of the ongoing five-nation basketball tournament in Maldives, defeating Bhutan by a score of 76-53. The green shirts showcased their dominance throughout the contest, consistently scoring at regular intervals. Notably, Zain-ul-Hassan led the team with an impressive 21 points, closely followed by captain Shahbaz Ali with 15 points and Umair Jan with 12 points. Prior to their triumph over Bhutan, Pakistan engaged in an exhilarating battle against hosts Maldives and secured a narrow victory with a final score of 65-63. The team exhibited their dominance in the first three quarters of the match. However, they faced a formidable challenge from the Maldives in the last quarter, relinquishing their lead but ultimately managing to secure the win. In their intense match against the Maldives, Zain ul Hasan Khan emerged as the leading scorer for the national team, contributing an impressive 22 points. Zia ur Rehman showcased his skills with 15 points, while Ahmed Amad concluded the game with a commendable 13 points. While Pakistan celebrated their victories over Bhutan and the Maldives, their tournament journey had a slight setback in their opening match against Nepal. In a closely contested game, Pakistan narrowly lost to Nepal with a score of 66-62. Despite this defeat, the team remains optimistic as they look forward to their final league game against Bangladesh scheduled for tomorrow.
