Top eight teams to vie Punjab Basketball Championship

Punjab's top eight basketball teams will showcase their talent in the Punjab men divisional basketball championship being played from tomorrow, Tuesday at sports stadium Khanawal. Multan division basketball association is organizing the event on behalf of Punjab basketball association and a keen competition is likely to be witnessed among the participating teams. The participating teams are Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bhawalpur. A spokesman of PBA said on Monday that new talent would be identified from the event which also aims at promoting basketball in all parts of the province. 'The outstanding players of the meet will be shortlisted and will be called for undergoing camp training in due course of time to achieve the objective of forming national junior and senior teams,' he said. Malik Mubasher has been nominated as organizing secretary of the event.
