Jordan -North Korea 90:80

Jordan overcame North Korea at the Guangzhou International Sport Arena. In the first game for both teams in Men's Preliminary Round Group E Jordan celebrated 90:80 win.
It was an offensive start and both teams scored the majority of their baskets. North Korea started with 26:24 and continued their streak after the win over Hong Kong in the Qualifying Round. Jordan however bounced back with 23-13 in the second period and took the lead at the halftime. Moreover North Korea could score another 13 points in the third period as Jordan held them for 19-13 to take the bigger lead. In the last quarter North Korea celebrated 28-24 win but could not escape the loss.
Abdullah Abuqoura (202-C-84) stepped up with 25 points for the winners and Mohammad Hadrab (201-F-84) netted 19. Mahd Abdeen (186-G-87) posted 15, whilst Ali Zaghab (204-F/C-88) scored 11. Pak Myong Jin erupted with 27 points in the losing effort, whilst Pak Un Chol added 16. Kim Un Chol notched 10 in defeat and Sin Kum Byol scored 9.
In Day 2 North Korea will face China and Jordan will play versus South Korea.
