Xavier, Sapial lift Xavier U19 Basketball Championship

Hosts Xavier International College and Saipal Academy lifted the Boys and Girls title respectively of the First Xavier International (U19) +2 Inter College Basketball Tournament Championship here at Kathmandu, Nepal.

In the final match of the boys category of the championship, Hosts Xavier International College beat Trinity International College 75 61 to lift the title while Saipal Academy beat Golden Gate International College 50 41 to lift the girls title.

Binesh Neupane of Xavier International College was named Boys MVP while Upama Pokhrel of Saipal Academy was named the Girls MVP of the championship.

The championship was held among the 10+2 colleges of Nepal with the only Under-19 players were allowed to participate. 24 Boys and 16 girls team participated in the event which was held from August 16 to 23, 2013 at the basketball court of the host Xavier International College, Kathmandu, Nepal.

National Sports Council Member Secretary Mr. Yuvaraj Lama, Nepal Basketball Association President Mr. Lama Tendi Sherpa and Principal of the host Xavier International College Mr. Lok Bhandari gave away prizes to the winners and runners up teams.
