YANGON, Myanmar Nokia-Pilipinas notched its second straight win by clobbering the host nation Myanmar, 108-39, in the SEABA Under 18 championship on Tuesday at the Thuwunna National Stadium here.
The Nationals never really encountered much opposition as they ran rings around the hapless local players whose infancy in the sport was made very obvious by their failure to check the Filipinos unrelenting full court press.
As in their 87-59 win over Malaysia on opening day last Monday, practically everybody in coach Eric Altamiranos 12-man rotation scored, with 6-foot-6 Jethroy Rosario, a TIP standout, leading with 20 points and seven rebounds.
The boys were both physically and mentally prepared, and they are very focused, said Altamirano, who spent the entire game seemingly watching what looked like a mere workout for his boys in preparation for tougher game today against Singapore.
The Singapore is one of the three threats to Nokia-Pilipinas campaign in this tournament serving as qualifier for the Fiba Asia Under 18 in Yemen this September, the two others being Thailand and Malaysia.source: mb.com.ph
