MBL Round 21 (Regular Season): Apes edge Miners by three points

The Regular Season in MBL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 21 in the MBL took place in Erdenet. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Miners (13-10) to third ranked Apes (17-8) 80-77 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Miners. Apes have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain third place with 17-8 record behind leader Xac Broncos. Miners at the other side keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Apes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ulaanbaatar Mongolians.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Knights (18-8) against fifth ranked Bodons (13-12) on Saturday night. Host Knights were defeated by Bodons in a tough game in Ulaanbaatar 100-106. Bodons maintains fifth place with 13-12 record. Knights lost their third game in a row. They keep the second position with eight games lost. Selenge will play against higher ranked Miners (#4) in Erdenet in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Knights will have a break next round.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Ulaanbaatar. Local Mongolians (7-17) lost to seventh ranked Falcons (10-14) 88-73 on Saturday night. Newly promoted Falcons maintains seventh place with 10-14 record. Mongolians at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the bottom position with 17 games lost. They share it with Metal. Falcons will meet higher ranked Miners (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mongolians' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ulaanbaatar to the arena Apes.

In the last game of round 21 Darkhan was defeated by Brothers in Uliastai 84-74.



Brothers - Darkhan 84-74

There was no surprise in Uliastai where 8th ranked United (9-16) was defeated by sixth ranked Brothers (11-14) 84-74 on Friday. Brothers maintains sixth place with 11-14 record. Loser United keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. Brothers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Darkhan will play against Metal (#9) in Ulaanbaatar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
