Best players of Mongolian MBL round 8 (by Hoops Agents)

American Ahmad Gilbert (200-F-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Selenge Bodons Sukhbaatar and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 29-year old forward had the game-high 37 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Selenge in his team's victory, helping them to crush Apes (#2, 8-5) with 16-point margin 108-92. Bodons is placed at 7th position in Mongolian MBL. Selenge is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. In the team's last game Gilbert had a remarkable nine three-pointers out of 16 attempts. He turned to be Bodons's top player in his first season with the team. Saint Thomas University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gilbert is in league's top in points (5th best: 22.9ppg), rebounds (7th best: 7.4rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg,2.9spg,53.7% FGP and 41.1% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Ch. Margad of BIM Bishrelt Metal Ulaanbaatar. Margad impressed basketball fans with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Metal cruised to a 97-89 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Falcons (#9, 2-7). Despite this victory Metal slide down in the standings to 8th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Margad is a newcomer at Metal and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Selenge's star - American Mike Williams (188-G-1996). Williams scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was another key player of Selenge Bodons Sukhbaatar, helping his team with a 108-92 easy win against the higher-ranked Apes (#2, 8-5). Bodons needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Williams has a very solid season. In 10 games in Mongolia he scored 17.0ppg. Williams attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
