Apes sign Aleksandar Mitrovic

Aleksandar Mitrovic

IHC Apes (MNBA) has signed 33-year-old Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrovic for the upcoming season. Mitrovic, who stands at 203cm, is the second foreign player on the team, with Anthony Smith from the USA already signed. Mitrovic most recently played for Al Shamal in the Qatari QBL league. Prior to that, he played for Qurrain in the Kuwaiti league, where he had impressive averages of 16.2ppg, 5.2rpg, and 5.2apg in 13 games last season.
He was a member of the Serbian U20 National Team in 2010.
He is a highly experienced player, having played professionally in various countries including Bahrain (Al-Muharraq and Al-Ittihad), Bosnia (Borac WWin Banja Luka), Bulgaria (Akademik Plovdiv), Georgia (Dinamo), Greece (Peristeri), Iraq (Al-Khtot), Kuwait, Saudi Arabia (Abha), Slovenia (Zlatorog), Taiwan (Leopards), Serbia (Partizan, KK Metalac Farmakom Valjevo, KK Mladost MaxBet Zemun, Vrsac, and BC Mega MIS Beograd), North Macedonia (Rabotnicki), and Montenegro (Buducnost). In 2023, he also played in the final of the Qatari League.
In 2021, he received the Asia-Basket.com All-Bahrain League Honorable Mention award.
