MNBA Finals, SBL sweep Hawks, win Championship - Mar 19, 2014

Hawks - SBL 98-107 (SBL win series 4-0)

SBL team wrapped up their undefeated post-season run to sweep the Hawks in Mongolia's MNBA Finals. Shooting guard Sanchir and swingman Bilguun led their team to the fourth national championship title. The Hawks put on another good team effort to take Game 4 down to the wire, but eventually paid a more limited rooster and faltered in the last minutes of the game,

Despite a tough loss in Game 3 only three days earlier, the Hawks came out committed to take the series to Game 5 and opened the game with a 5-0 run inspired by Battur and Hammonds. But SBL quickly came back with point guard Sergelen changing the pace of the game and Sanchir and Bilguun hitting 3-pointers to build a 63/48 lead at halftime. With end of the season celebration already taking place at halftime, the Hawks staged an impressive comeback outscoring SBL 34/15 in the third quarter thanks to a stifling defensive effort and Bolortulga's and Hammonds' points. The Hawks extended their lead into the fourth quarter (87/81), but their defence grew weaker as foul troubles starting affecting most of its starters. With more room for driving and shooting, SBL's Sanchir and Bilguun went for the jugular and closed the game with a final, decisive 26/11 run.
