Bangladesh needed overtime to beat Maldives in Tripureshwor at the 13th South Asian Games. Bangladesh posted a 78-67 win due to 11-0 run in extra time.
Maldives took control of the game in the first period and had a 19-9 lead. Bangladesh however replied with a 25-14 run to take a 34-33 halftime advantage. Once again Maldives pulled a 23-16 rally in the third period, while Bangladesh tied it all with a 17-11 in the fourth quarter. In overtime, Bangladesh did not allow the opponents to score a single point for the final success.
