Malaysia U16 - Tonga U16 70-47

Malaysia U16 opened their 2025 FIBA U16 Women’s Asia Cup (Division B) campaign with a convincing 70–47 win over Tonga U16. The game was tight early, with Malaysia holding a narrow 28–27 edge at halftime. However, the hosts broke the contest open in the third quarter with a dominant 22–7 run, seizing full control. They carried that momentum into the final period, outscoring Tonga 20–13 to close out the win. Balanced scoring and defensive adjustments after the break proved the difference, as Malaysia made a strong statement in front of their home crowd.
Yi Hao, Trixie Teo and Yi Yap (168-F-2010) led the way with 13 points each, whilst Qian Hui Jong had 11. Hunivaololo Folau (165-PG-2009) replied with 16 points in defeat.
