Penang SY outrebounded Fire Horse 48-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. American-Thailand point guard Frederick Lish (175-1988, college: USA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-1995, college: Jefferson) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Australian guard Alexander Mudronja (196-1999, college: SMC) replied with 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American forward Alexander Starling (198-1989, college: BCU) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fire Horse. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Johor Tigers shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Yee-Tong Heng (180-1998) who scored 28 points and 8 assists. American forward Christian Anigwe (206, college: UC Davis) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Vance Jackson (206-1997, college: ECU) produced 25 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Chun-Hong Ting (193-1996) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Johor Tigers and four NS Matrix players scored in double figures. NS Matrix's coach Felton Sealey rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help.
