NS Matrix inks Davion Wingate, ex Surabaya F.

Davion Wingate

Negeri Sembilan Matrix (MWBL) signed 27-year old American guard Davion Wingate (168cm-1997, college: FGCU) for upcoming 2024-25 season. She played last season at Surabaya Fever in Indonesian D1 league. In two Women Basketball League Asia games just recently she had 3.5ppg and 1.5rpg. The last season she played at Penza Peja in Kosovan league. She also played 8 games in Kosovan Superliga where she recorded very impressive stats: 19.6ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.9apg and 1.1spg. Wingate helped them to make it to the semifinals. The other team she played that season for was Majd Tanger Basketball in Moroccan league. In 8 games she averaged remarkable 19.5ppg, 4.5rpg and 2.9apg.
She is quite experienced player. Wingate has played in eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Africa and of course North America). She has played previously professionally in Greece (Panathlitikos), Kosovo, Morocco, Serbia (Kraljevo), Sweden (Visby), Switzerland and Turkey (Yalova Vip).
Among many awards she played in the final of A-Sun Tournament in 2020. Wingate was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Greek League Honorable Mention in 2023.
She graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2020 and it will be her fifth season as a professional player. Wingate played also for Stony Brook University for 2 years.
