Bird's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

30-year old American guard Jabari Bird (198-G-1994) had a great game in the last round for Johor Southern Tigers and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
He had a double-double of 37 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Penang SY (#3, 5-5) 82-68. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Johor Tigers moved-up to the 4th position in Malaysian league. Johor Tigers is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-5 record. In the team's last game Bird had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Johor Tigers' top player in his first season with the team. Jabari Bird averages just after two games 26.5ppg and 8.5rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Yevgen Sakhniuk (201-F-1995) of Penang Sunrise Youngsters. He is Ukrainian forward in his first season at Penang SY. In the last game Sakhniuk recorded an impressive 27 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course he led Penang SY to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Johor Tigers (#4, 4-5) 97-62. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Penang SY consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 5-5 record is not bad at all. Sakhniuk is a newcomer at Penang SY and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Johor Tigers' star - forward Christian Anigwe (206-F). Anigwe showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Johor Southern Tigers, helping his team with a 82-68 easy win against #3 ranked Penang SY. The chances of Johor Tigers ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Anigwe could help Johor Tigers to bring them higher in the standings. Anigwe has a very solid season. In 2 games in Malaysia he scored 16.5ppg.
