Best players of Malaysian MBL round 3

American Kimani Lawrence (202-PF-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Johor Southern Tigers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 26-year old power forward had a double-double of 32 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Sarawak CW (#2, 4-3) 103-95. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Johor Tigers maintains the 4th position in Malaysian MBL. Johor Tigers is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-4 record. Lawrence turned to be Johor Tigers' top player in his first season with the team. Arizona State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Lawrence is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.1ppg), rebounds (5th best: 9.3rpg) and averages solid 54.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Guyanese center Anthony Moe (207-C-1990) of Putrajaya. Moe impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 20 rebounds. Bad luck as Putrajaya was edged by Penang SY (3-4) 70-66. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Moe is a newcomer at Putrajaya and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.6ppg (#8). He also registered 11.9 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Australian Jock Perry (216-C-1997) of second-ranked Sarawak Cola Warriors. Perry scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Perry's great performance the Fire Horse lost 95-103 to #4 ranked Johor Tigers. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Sarawak CW needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 4 victories and 3 lost games. Perry has a great season in Malaysia. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 15.9rpg (#1 in league).
